Internship Evaluations |

What do our interns learn? How do they evaluate their internship experience? Here are a few comments… Aurélie Hiernaux, La Haute Ecole Libre de Bruxelles Ilya Prigogine (Belgium) '09 What professional skills did you learn during this internship that you feel will help you further in college and in your career? Stay regularly connected with business clients by sending e-mails and eblasts. In this way, you build a reliable relationship with them. I learned too the importance of writing and publishing articles so that you can boost your credibility and visibility before business people who might be interested in your work. In this way, you generate word- of-mouth. Also, be perseverant and patient when waiting for responses or positive results from business people. What career insights did you gain that you feel will help you be successful in your eventual career? This internship showed me more precisely the career path that I would like to follow: be part of a public relations firm or work for a magazine or newspaper since I like to write. What did you NOT learn about that you wish you had? Well, nothing comes into my mind because I have constantly learnt something new during my time here! What aspects of the internship did you most enjoy? I liked very much the fact that I was directly part of a team and was given the chance to be involved in every aspect of the editing and publishing process. I also enjoyed that I had the opportunity to see how the business world really works. To summarize I really liked the diversity of the work and all the lessons I learned from my internship at emerson consulting group inc. How could this internship be improved? Personally I spent and had a really good time with Ken and Elena here so no need to improve anything from my perspective. How could the room in which you worked be made over so as to improve its working environment? Well, the room has a nice space to work in and everything you need (shelves, pens, fridge, mugs, cutlery…what more could we ask?). The only suggestion that comes into my mind might be a softer overhead lighting.Click here to learn more about Internship Opportunities. |
