Internship Evaluations

What do our interns learn?

How do they evaluate their internship experience?

Here are a few comments…

Lauren Fleming, Fordham '11

What professional skills did you learn during this internship that you feel will help you further in college and in your career?

I learned how to work independently but still ask questions when I had a problem. I became more confident with more formal e-mailing—something I was always uncomfortable with but is so useful when e-mailing professors, employers, etc.

What career insights did you gain that you feel will help you be successful in your eventual career?

I learned more about working with clients and editors (and keeping everyone happy). I learned about networking.

What did you NOT learn about that you wish you had?

Not sure… I don’t feel like anything important was glaringly left out.

What aspects of the internship did you most enjoy?

I enjoyed meeting clients and reading their work. I liked doing the final edits (and word cutting) before sending them off to the editors.

How could this internship be improved?

I thought this was a good, well-rounded internship. I learned a lot.

How could the room in which you worked be made over so as to improve its working environment?

It was cold!
