Internship Evaluations

What do our interns learn?

How do they evaluate their internship experience?

Here are a few comments…

Madeline Vellturo, Concord-Carlisle High School ‘07

What professional skills did you learn during this internship that you feel will help you further in college and in your career?

Efficient ways of filing and organizing, which are always helpful. I also learned a lot about a business atmosphere, working with clients, and professional writing. I learned about responsibility and how to make things work in a sticky situation, as in when a computer won’t work as it’s supposed to.

What career insights did you gain that you feel will help you be successful in your eventual career?

I feel I learned more about how to behave in a professional atmosphere. I like how everything is not scheduled, but there’s some spontaneity and surprise to each days events and duties.

What did you NOT learn about that you wish you had?

Though I interviewed two clients, at first I didn’t meet too many people outside the office. Near the end, however, I met many people, so that wasn’t really an issue any more.

What aspects of the internship did you enjoy?

I enjoyed contacting clients or editors and having them contact me back. I made me feel professional. I also enjoyed searching for things online that are hard to find, as well as writing articles and press releases.

How could this internship be improved?

You know what would spice things up? A dog! A kind of company mascot! Or a cat. But it would probably distract me so much. I’m just putting this down because I don’t really have any complaints. I’ve enjoyed this internship a lot.

How could the office be made over to improve its working environment?

I like the space I worked in. It’s colorful, but also professional.
