Internship Evaluations

What do our interns learn?

How do they evaluate their internship experience?

Here are a few comments…

Ryan Tan, Boston University, '11

What professional skills did you learn during this internship that you feel will help you further in college and in your career?

I learned the process of editing articles, speaking in front of large groups (if only for an elevator speech), client relationships, time management and insight into the large business world.

What career insights did you gain that you feel will help you be successful in your eventual career?

I think the importance of networking and staying in contact was a very helpful insight.

What did you NOT learn about that you wish you had?

Pretty much covered what I wanted to know.

What aspects of the internship did you enjoy?

I really enjoyed pitching articles to publishers. I thought the process was fascinating and was always excited when I got a bite from one.

How could this internship be improved?

Proper desks or even just a better space to work would help improve the environment. It got a little stuffy in here at times. Also, better organization of tasks would be helpful to stay on top of things. We didn’t have many multi-day projects.

How could the room you worked in be made over to improve its working environment?

A couple of smaller desks to accommodate everyone would be nice; rather than the two large desks which take up a lot of room.
