Patricia Coate has spent the past 30 years helping corporate leaders, business owners, consultants, financial gurus and other professionals to supercharge their written and oral communications, thereby elevating their reputations as thoughtleaders in their areas of expertise.

Her passion is to coach, train and motivate experts who:

  • Want to create a better brand for themselves and for their companies.
  • Desire to get credited for their business contributions and build a loyal customer base.
  • Are ready to follow a sustainable path to long-term financial and professional success.

Today she puts her broad skills of business communications, media relations, marketing communications and publishing talents to work for clients of the emerson consulting group.

As a result of her counsel and coaching, emersongroup clients increase their traction in the marketplace of ideas through books, articles, speeches, TV, radio and print interviews, and webinars, Blogs and other online media, thereby enhancing their credibility and visibility to their target markets.

Where did she learn these techniques? From her unique experiences at large companies and on Wall Street, Patricia honed her skills and set the standards long before any books were written about consultative PR and marketing.

After her successful career heading up communications functions for corporate America in the ‘80s, she spent the next 10 years helping leaders of mid-sized companies and professional service firms compete with the big guys by using innovative PR and marketing techniques.

In 2001, she joined the media industry and served as editor of an international business magazine, The Handbook of Business Strategy. For the next four years, she learned the ins and outs of the ever-changing publishing world and published articles by the world’s leading experts in business processes. Her own by-lined articles on how to use the media to increase visibility and grow one’s business have appeared in numerous journals, including AMA, CEO Refresher, Your Marketing Lab and the Handbook of Business Strategy. Earlier in her career she co-founded a publication for women in business and sold it to the National Association of Female Executives.

She’s currently marketing chair for IMC USA, the International Association of Management Consultants, a candidate for the National Speakers Association and an active member of the Independent Book Publishers Association and Women Entrepreneurs of Oregon.

Her new book, “How to Become a Known Expert in 90 Days,” will be issued in late 2009.
