Self-Publish or Perish

Presented by Ken Lizotte CMC

Once considered a haven for losers, “self-publishing” may now be the book publishing method of choice. With commercial publishers focusing more and more on authors who are already mega-stars (well-know athletes and coaches, CEOs, political and military figures), opportunities for business experts are getting squeezed. This workshop will address the pros and cons of traditional publishing vs. publishing your book yourself.

Topics Ken will cover:

  • How technology has shifted the balance
  • How self-publishing affords you much more control
  • Insuring that your self-published book advances your business goals
  • Setting up your own publishing house
  • Distributing and self-promotion tips

Attendees benefit by acquiring knowledge of publishing industry realities and limitations vs. self-publishing advantages. They learn why many consultant-authors have CHOSEN the self-publishing route and enthusiastically attest to its advantages.

Program presenter Ken Lizotte CMC, Chief Imaginative Officer (CIO) of emerson consulting group inc., Concord, Massachusetts, is a media/publishing consultant and author of four books and hundreds of published magazine and trade journal articles.  His firm provides “publishing visibility campaigns” to consulting firms and solo management consultants who wish to get their article and book ideas published. A popular keynoter at national conferences and company annual meetings, he is current President of the Institute for Management Consultants/New England chapter, a career advisor at Harvard University and on-line columnist for the American Management Association.
