Following publication of an article, many proactive steps can be taken to maximize your published article’s impact. Ignore such steps at your peril! Score one point for each YES response to measure your “post-pub savvy quotient.” See score ranking at bottom of quiz.

  1. Have you let your clients know that you’ve published an article?
  2. Have you let your colleagues know that you’ve published an article?
  3. Have you let your prospects know that you’ve published an article?
  4. Have you posted your article on your website?
  5. Is your article easily found and easily downloaded on your website?
  6. If you sent out an e-mail announcing your published article, did you include a link to your article?
  7. Have you created print copies of your article to hand out at speaking engagements and networking events?
  8. Have you created a PDF of your article for emailing to future prospects, clients, colleagues, meeting planners?
  9. Is your article readily visible in your office or office lobby so that visitors can easily encounter them?
  10. Have you added your article’s title, publication and publication date to your bio and CV?
  11. Are you bringing your article with you when you go out to meet clients, prospects and colleagues?
  12. Have you submitted new article ideas to the editor who published your article?
