thoughts
you should know...
Thinking
of writing and publishing a book? If so, you may mistakenly
assume that your first step is to "find" a publisher.
That way, you'll obtain major backing to (a) produce a quality
manuscript, and (b) get your book widely publicized and sold.
You'd of course NEVER want to self-publish!
But
if you want a book primarily to market your business AND should
you want your book to appear fairly soon (within the next
year, for example), some form of self-publishing may be the
better way for you to go.
To
elaborate, check out a funny, cautionary and a bit scary article
by Andy Kessler of The Wall Street Journal, called "Self-Publish
and Be Damned? Not Always!" sent to us by alert subscriber
Dan Reagan.
