...ordering pizza in 2010

thoughtleader university...
...why you should keep publishing

This note came in last month from Jonathan Kranz, Kranz Communications (http://www.kranzcom.com/), following his reading of our intern Amanda Miller ’s article “10 Common Mistakes Made by People Who Publish an Article.”

Dear Ken et al:

Thank you for your recent thoughtnotes; I really enjoyed Amanda’s “10 Common Mistakes” article and want to emphasize her last point – keep on publishing.

Here’s my story: I’ve been publishing articles, almost once a month, for a fairly well-recognized marketing content site since January 2005. But until recently, I only got two pieces of business that could be traced to my articles, and they were small pieces at that.

I was beginning to feel discouraged – then suddenly, last week… out of the blue… I got 3 important leads from those same articles! All three are for substantially-sized projects with big (one’s really big) companies; one of these leads has already converted to real business. The other two are in negotiations.

My point? PERSISTENCE and PATIENCE. You gotta’ publish… then keep publishing!

Best wishes,
Jonathan
