In this issue:

thoughts you should know...
...lessons from a yogi

After Mark Twain, Winston Churchill and transcendental thoughtleaders Ralph Waldo and Henry David, Yogi Berra may be the most quoted individual of all time. Though seemingly nonsensical at first, when you think about it, Yogi’s utterings sometimes, somehow, make a lot of sense. Here are a few choice ones:

"Nobody goes there; it's too crowded."

"A nickel ain't worth a dime anymore."

"We made too many wrong mistakes."

"If people don't come to the ballpark, how are you gonna stop them?"

"We're lost, but we're making good time."

"It gets late early out here."

"When you come to a fork in the road, take it."

"90% of baseball is half mental."

"Always go to other people's funerals. Otherwise they won't go to yours."

"Steve McQueen looks good in this movie.  He must have made it before he died."

"You can observe a lot just by watching."

"The future ain't what it used to be."

And everyone’s favorite: "It ain't over till it's over."

thoughtleader university...
...leveraging thoughtleading

Recently Ken spoke to the New Jersey chapter of the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC) in Princeton NJ about how to leverage thoughtleading efforts with smart networking and an email stay-in-touch system. If you weren’t there, Ken’s recent article in IndUS Business Journal “Four Marketing Secrets to Push You Ahead of the Pack” can fill you in. Take a look at it here: http://www.thoughtleading.com/indus_4secrets_article.htm

thoughts and actions...
...writing a great book proposal

How do publishers decide which business books to publish? Typically, they do NOT choose from a stack of finished manuscripts, preferring to sample book ideas packaged in a standard proposal format. Mastering this format affords maximum likelihood that a publishing contract will follow.

To learn exactly how it’s done, see “Giving Them What They Want: How to Write a Book Proposal and Win a Publisher’s Heart” by our intern extraordinaire Margaret Gormley: http://www.thoughtleading.com/givethem_article.htm
