Tijana Salaj
Summer Intern 2009
Tijana’s unique mix of previous work experience (which includes teaching, sales, IT communications) and her status as a Zagreb University graduate student studying English Linguistics, made her believe that she is ready to do something serious and different. Therefore, as an international student from Croatia, Tijana joined emerson consulting group as an intern 2009 in order to expand her skills and field of study working in areas like publishing, PR and administration.
With a BA in English and Philosophy from Faculty of Philosophy in Osijek, her work background and coursework have supplied her with many theoretical and practical skills. Also, she has always been interested in studying and exploring new things that were outside of her field of study, and that is why she participated in Geopolitical Issues spring course at Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb in 2009.
Moreover, she has been a member of the Croatian Red Cross City Branch Osijek since 2005 and that is when she showed her interest in politics, PR, publishing, humanitarian affairs. For this reason, she volunteered in Kenya at Watoto Wa Baraka orphanage for a month (Oct-Nov 2008) teaching in local schools and being administrative officer in the orphanage. She also participated in the Red Cross summer camps and International Law workshops. She received an honorable mention by Goi Peace Foundation when she participated in Essay Contest in 2005. And continuing her work at international level, she is planning to participate as a delegate of Democratic Republic of the Congo in Human Right Council in ZAGIMUN Conference, sponsored by Model United Nations, in October 2009.
